Bernhard Transport — Horse transport across Europe

Bernhard Transport is a company specialised in equine transport, both national and international. From our base in Barcelona, Spain, we carry horses safely across Europe with a single goal in mind: that every animal travels rested, calm and free of stress for the entire journey.

Roughly every two weeks we run routes from Spain to France, Luxembourg, Belgium, The Netherlands, Germany, Italy and Switzerland. We also cover collections and deliveries to the Balearic Islands. (This page is the English version of our site; the main site is in Spanish.)

Transporting a horse is not like moving ordinary freight. Horses are sensitive to stress, temperature changes and long journeys. That is why everything we do revolves around animal welfare: short routes, scheduled rest stops and vehicles purpose-built so the horse always travels comfortably.

All our staff hold the official licence for equine transport, and we comply with every regulation concerning the carriage of live animals. The European framework on animal welfare during transport is published by the European Commission.

Safety and monitoring on the road

Our vehicles are fitted with closed-circuit television so we can check on the horse at any moment during the trip. Continuous monitoring, careful driving and regular stops keep stress to a minimum and let us respond immediately to anything unexpected.
